mist surrounded the magic.

Proof that magic really is all around us. A trip to Gresgarth Hall a few weeks ago. The heavens opened and I got completely soaked... being practical just doesn't work for me.

This place is open just once a month, for a few months a year, and seriously if you were ever in its vicinity (Caton, Lancaster) worth the trip.
I spent the afternoon there dreaming up photoshoots and suitable outfits, and wondering why the grounds hadn't been used for a fashion magazine editorial before?!

Arabella Lennox-Boyd, a garden designer, and gold medal winner at Chelsea owns the house. ( strictly out of bounds but I'm sure the interior is just as breathtaking!)
The gardens are full of roses, poppies, individual rooms, a huge lake, amazing seating, mosaics, and the stunning oriental bridge.
The blue flower- a Meconopsis poppy from the Himalayas- stunning, and one of the very few naturally blue flowers!
Less of a fashion post, but I hope still enjoyable- I have included an outfit shot for any one wondering....

soaking up the palest shades.

I guess in the summer months a touch of inner hippie always re-surfaces! Throw some feathers, tye-dye, wavy hair ( a result from screwing up in a bun after washing)or braiding, bohemian accessories, and as much time outdoors as the day allows, and i'm happy!
I must confess to spending the last few days in nothing but bikinis, a loose shirt, mini jumpsuit or oversized tee while soaking up as much sun as the day allows. Time indoors spent browsing the internet for the hottest sales at net-a-porter, Topshop, French Connection, Outnet, Browns made a whole load easier thanks to Shoppulse's relaunched site- you must check it out!

Weekend treasure hunt.

A day spent treasure hunting... I think the results were pretty awesome- leaving me with plenty of inspiration to share, jewels to save for, and possibly a new ring to the collection.
I completely fell for the amethyst bed... ( taking me back to my youth and collecting- gems, rocks and minerals- and the magazine... hope i'm not the only one!) The linked ring rosary bangle also gained way too much admiration and if it stays around I might be back to purchase!

hippie dreams and headwear.

Perfect hippie dreams and scenes this summer. The most luscious loosely curled, effortless wavy hair. Throw in a spot of Abbey Lee and her contrasting new cut for good measure.

pleats? yes please.

Another piece of my pleated collection- not the easiest to find but the folded fabric always adds another dimension.( This piece came from the Sisley store in Barcelona!- they always have the most beautiful non-standard colours). The shorts I picked up in Marbella - just add some laces and they remind me of the Isabel Marant version or the Kate Moss x Topshop pair. I have acquired a number of delicate shaded items in the past- this seasons focus on pastels certainly helps fuel the collection!
How beautiful is the weather? Yahoooo- I hope it keeps up and we are all in for a treat over the weekend! Kisses. Katie.x
( trying to post 3 times a week for you guys! Thanks for all the sweet comments- it makes my day!)

Resort thoughts. WOW.

WOW- My Top picks of the 2011 resort collections... in a nutshell....
Stella McCartney- Fresh lines, delicate lace, sharp tailoring and an exquisite hand painted style tulip print. Feminine and modern.
Alexander Wang- Edgy, understated utility.
Chloe Sevigny x O.C- Fun flirty and easy to wear everyday.
Erin Fetherson-Simple, elegant and so chic- I could see me wearing every single one of these!
Rag & Bone- Mixed up layering, offbeat colours and urban.
Celine- Phoebe Philo's vision. Minimalism at it's best. In the words of style.com- a 'subtle knockout'.
Proenza Schouler Inspired by a recent jaunt to India. This can't fail to remind me of my favourite bits of Chanel, Celine and Alexander Wang all made into one amazing look!

Stella McCartney, Alexander Wang, Chloe Sevigny for O.C, Erin Fetherson, Rag & Bone, Celine and Proenza Schouler ( phew I got that out!) are my absolute favourites.( Seriously this has been a hard decision!) I have searched the beloved Style.com, and stored my personal highlights- for dreaming and creating purposes, and of course to share with you! Image overload- savour every piece- this stuff is good.

Chloe, a cat and a competition winner.

(blouse- see by Chloe. wedges DIY, sunglasses ASOS, bag- Circa, trousers ZARA)
An outing for my D.I.Y Miu Miu's made here, and although still craving the impossible to track down/sold out Miu Miu's I have been enjoying these.
A few years back- I used to freelance for a company in Japan designing ladies fashion prints. With the first ever design sold, I treated myself to this Circa bag- the most divine leather, very understated= a total classic, and perfect for mini trips away.

On another note....My cat is such a floozy- after many attempts to remove her from photos, I gave in and photographed her too.

GIVEAWAY/COMPETITION- Many thanks to all who took part- all the names were written onto paper- and put into my huge black hat- the winner picked out at random is....
I will now search back through the comments- locate you... and arrange for these lovely goodies to be posted, and of course wrapped up a treat!x Katie.x
