Over the Moon for Barcelona.

After a week long trip to Barcelona in February I am OVER THE MOON to be going back there for four more days this weekend- I love being spontaneous, it seems to add to the excitement!
Great rehab with the fresh air, warmer climate and fabulous surroundings- the perfect incentive along my road of recovery.
Barcelona is such an outstanding city with a strong artistic history, absolutely bursting with inspirational everythings! My first trip to Paris in October has started some serious city rivalry- both unique.x
I would love to hear if you have been, where you love to go, or where is your favourite city??

Some of my favourite photos from Februarys trip.
Fresh fruit juices at the Boqueria. So good...
  Santa Eulalia Festival- firework madness!
Preserved fruit- I loved the glass jars and backdrop!
  Candy edible rings.
  Casa Batllo.'The dragon House'.
Graffiti- how awesome is the owl hair?
I hope you enjoy- i will post Barcelona findings from this trip when i'm home.

drink me....

Incredible chandeliers, ornate mirrors, and a fabulous occasion, with the joint birthday of a lovely friend, and younger sister.
After a sleepless night i decided to make the girls 'eat me' and 'drink me' tag cards, which were recieved with much delight and squeals of joy.
A single celebratory mojito proved a little lethal, leaving me feeling rather fuzzy. Suitably fitting for the quality of some of these outfit photos?! (apologies)Rain and fur never mixed.
( Some of you may know i'm still improving after a loooong spell of ill health. Achieving this evening out felt brilliant. I lasted a few hours, and have felt exhausted since but determination is a great strength!)

Dress- All saints, Wedges- Kurt Geiger Fashionistas (see chain close up), brooch- family treasure, earrings- family treasure, beaded pouch, Fur- thrift, ring- holiday street market.

curiouser & CURIOUSER

Enjoying the outdoors and the SUN, realising my outfit, photos and adventure were vaguely reminiscent of Topshop Unique A/W collection, with a touch of the 1970's thrown in for good measure.( Cue fur, woodland & mini satchel bag.) I even saw a squirrel!

Can you imagine how delighted i was to stumble upon this jacket while taking a diversion from a seaside wander ?
Honey fur called out to me- oversized, super condition and with the name 'Garner' on the label. Added bonus = no fusty scent! The best feeling- taking an old ladies treasure, to an extremely grateful new home.
The cameo and box satchel- I am lucky to have inherited, along with other beautiful items passed down through generations- (im sure they will pop up from time to time in future posts)- all are very special with great sentimental value and such a pleasure to use.

(fur- thrift, denim dress- H&M, wedges- red herring, brooch- antique fair, mini satchel/ box bag- 1960's family treasure, cameo ring 1970's family treasure,  glasses- ASOS-£10-BUY HERE

I'm late, I'm late. Alice in Wonderland.

So i made it to watch Alice in Wonderland this week. With a reputation of never being on time for ANYTHING to live up to, i did not disappoint. In this instance- traffic was to blame. We literally squeezed into the last remaining seats, sporting the 3-d glasses and waited for the story to unfold. (Please note- by this point i had removed the hat, as to not upset fellow film watchers, not the most appropriate film watching attire but i have never found this sort of conformity fun!)

Rings from the enchanted forest

Inspiration from a snowdrop woodland walk this weekend. The light through the trees had an enchanting effect, which also fueled my excitement for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland- i will be watching this week.( all photographs taken myself )
Exquisite green cut glass ring- gift- handmade pewter in the UK. Trio of abstract rings- purchased in Barcelona H&M- really unexpected for the high street chain! New purchase- Abalone shell silver ring- ebay- thanks to Styleofafashionista.blogspot for recommending the seller!

Shearlings and teddy coats Burberry Prorsum a/w 10

Autumn Winter 2010 is shaping up to be a sensational season.
Burberry Prorsum delivered such a divine concoction of textures, and colours with the right amount of wearability. I am a sucker for a good coat and immediately fell for the teddy bear oversized fur, flying jackets and drummer boy meets military influences. lets just say the whole collection!
Shearling and chunky multi strap boots have already topped my winter wish list-
(is it wrong to have one so soon?)

Burberry show made more special as my friend interviewed Mario Testino at the show. Check it out on www.fashionweeklive.com, London Day 4- video highlights.

Knuckleduster supreme- Gisele Ganne

An invite to a small exhibition in a gallery nearby landed through the letterbox. Drawn to an Exhibition entitled 'Black and gold' and a single incredible image of an extreme knuckleduster. It was absolutely worth the trip just to gaze into one small perspex box filled with treasures. 'Morning and Divorce jewelry by Gisele Ganne'. The iphone provided a more discreet way of capturing the enchanted pieces- however the perspex shoddy iphone ability and shadows proved a little impossible! apologies. ( i hope the beauty shines through)

Harpers Bazaar arrived in yesterdays mail- such a suprise to see a Gisele Ganne knuckleduster masterpiece staring me in the face- featured for sale at Wolf & Badger, Ledbury road London. ( far better quality image)
